Hair Follicle Simulation 2019-05-01T09:09:34+00:00

The Hair Follicle Simulation (HFS) technology was developed by Moshe Alul. The underlying concept of this technology involves penetrating pigment into the scalp to create the illusion of short hair follicles. Until recently, the standard method for introducing pigment into the scalp was by insertion, using only a single needle, in a long, painful and time-consuming process that produced average to below average results. The NPM patented revolutionary roller is now replacing use of the needles and shortening treatment time by 90%, with remarkably accurate appearance as a hair follicle. This procedure is now exclusive to Sulé Loggenberg Academy & Clinic. The process of micro pigmentation: We penetrate through the epidermal layer using a needle that inserts the pigments. This layer of cells changed every few weeks, so this technique will gradually fade but can last up till about four years. Unlike a tattoo which uses a needle that penetrates the layer of sub cutis, the layer we penetrate has no regeneration of the pigment cells so that the Follicle Hair Simulation result can last for a long while.

There are several things the patient should avoid the day of application: wetting the treated area, wiping it, sun exposure, scratching or peeling and using creams or other materials on the treated area. Any further visits will improve the look of the scalp and hair simulation will integrate with natural hair. The number of treatments will vary from patient to patient depending on his scalp. To preserve the final result application should be repeated with emphasis on one application every year. In the case we are treating a scar reaction is different because scar tissue reacts differently comparing to non-scarred skin tissue and therefore it requires a greater number of treatments and the use of a slightly darker shade of pigment. In addition the patient will come back within a few months for a session that strengthens the fast fading pigment in the scar area. Treatment duration ranges from 30 minutes to two hours depending on the treated area.

It is strictly forbidden to perform hair simulation in the following cases:

Patients undergoing chemotherapy
Patients who suffer from blood clotting
Those who suffer from diabetes
People with heart / liver conditions
People with high blood pressure
Patients who consume alcohol / drugs
During antibiotic therapy

Am I a candidate and how do I get started? 2017-01-16T13:45:58+00:00

Most men and woman with hair loss or head scars are likely candidates for one or more of our procedures. For example, if you are able to cover the thinning or bald area with makeup our Artistic Hair Simulationsm or Artistic Hair Shadingsm services could be ideal for you as a wonderful alternative to hair transplants. Just email us a photo and we’ll review your personal situation.

Does Artistic Hair Simulation look natural? 2017-01-15T13:46:38+00:00

Yes, if you are a good candidate and an experienced person is doing the work. If not, the results can look very unnatural since this is a tattooing procedure and is not easily removed.

Is cosmetic tattooing permanent? 2017-01-14T13:47:23+00:00

Legally, we must use the term permanent even though all tattoos will fade over time and may require periodic touch ups. Naturally, lighter colors fade more quickly than very dark or black colors but a lot depends on how well you take care of your scalp.

Scarred areas also have the tendency to fade more quickly because a scar is not healthy tissue and does not hold the ink as well as healthy skin. The very small needles we use to achieve a natural look do not implant the ink as deeply as those used in traditional tattoos and fading can occur.

Is this a one-time procedure? 2017-01-13T13:48:20+00:00

No, it can take several sessions depending on the depth of color you want to achieve, but minimal sessions are all that is usually required. The number of required sessions tends to increase in cases of head scars because scars can reject up to 50% of the ink after the first session. Again, just email us a photo and we’ll review your personal situation.

How much does Hair Loss Solutions cost? 2017-01-12T13:48:43+00:00

Most of our clients find our services to be very affordable but the cost will depend on the number of sessions required to camouflage your problem area. After we’ve reviewed your photo we’ll be glad to discuss your goals, options, and cost estimate.

Does Hair Loss Solutions hurt? 2017-01-11T13:49:32+00:00

We do everything possible to make you comfortable but it depends on who is doing the procedure and how sensitive your scalp is. When done properly there should be very minimal pain similar to tiny pin pricks. For our clients with extra sensitive scalps we use a numbing cream to ensure their comfort. On the other hand, if the practitioner is heavy handed and unskilled, cosmetic tattooing can be very painful.

Do I need to shave my head? 2017-01-10T13:50:07+00:00

It depends on what you want to achieve. Most pre-treatment clients who plan to hide a scar and currently use makeup for coverage or those with transplants that wish only to enhance the area do not need to shave their heads. Conversely, pre-treatment clients with bald areas might be directed to shave their heads. In either case, we will guide you about your pre-treatment options after reviewing your photo.

I have scars on my head and I wear a hat or cover my scars with makeup. Can Artistic Hair Shading help? 2017-01-09T13:50:32+00:00

Yes, Artistic Hair Shadingsm will help scars appear less noticeable and you will see an improvement. The service can take several sessions because scars do not hold the ink the same way normal healthy skin does.

I have scars on my head from a transplant and I want to shave my head after the procedure. Can I shave and look normal again? 2017-01-08T13:51:10+00:00

This is a very difficult question to answer and will depend on the number and physical characteristics of the scars you have. It can take several sessions to hide. Some companies may say this is not a problem, but that has not been our experience. This is because some scars are harder to cover and results will vary from one individual to another. Although it can take several sessions to hide scars, tattooing will make them less noticeable and our clients normally see a great improvement. We will discuss your options after we have reviewed your photos.

Is Artistic Hair Simulation a tattoo? 2017-01-07T13:51:50+00:00

Yes, Artistic Hair Simulationsm and Artistic Hair Shadingsm are forms of micro tattooing. Implanting any pigment into the skin is a tattoo by legal definition and should be taken care of like a tattoo.

Are the inks the same as what a tattoo artist uses and are cosmetic inks dangerous? 2017-01-06T13:52:11+00:00

It is the cosmetic artist that must be qualified and knowledgeable about which inks, needles, and machines are appropriate for the procedure. We are trained professionals and will determine which ink is the best for your service.

What will the healing process be like during the first month? 2017-01-05T13:53:16+00:00

Generally speaking, there may be some swelling the day after the treatment and the scalp will appear dark for the first few days. After that, the scalp will start to peel and flake and the color will appear light or hazy. Peeling lasts about a week and tends to be worse the first time, so you may want to wear a hat. The total healing process takes approximately 4 weeks. By then you will be ready for your second treatment. DO NOT schedule your treatment just prior to important events. If you are in the entertainment industry, the procedure can be done a little at a time so that it is not as noticeable during the healing phase. Remember, this is a tattoo and you will have to follow the after care instructions we provide you.

How can I keep my tattoo looking at its best? 2017-01-03T13:54:29+00:00

Following the procedure, we will give you instructions on the proper way to have your barber or stylist cut your hair. If your stylist or barber is not skilled, your tattoo will not look as good as it could. Our experts can also work directly with your barber or stylist to ensure that post-treatment cuts compliment your new look.

What if my hair turns gray? 2017-01-02T13:55:06+00:00

Depending on how your gray hair is distributed you may want to tint your hair for a more natural look. Sometimes gray hair is evenly distributed with a “salt and pepper” look and other times it grows in particular areas first, like at the sides and temples. We will advise you about your options after reviewing your photo.

Can I get an infection? 2017-01-01T13:55:31+00:00

An infection can occur if the after-care instructions are not followed. Cutting your hair before the scalp is healed, using non-sterile blades or tools, or using harsh chemicals before your tattoo is healed are just a few examples of actions that can lead to infection. If an irritation or infection occurs you need to contact us immediately and stay in contact until the issue is resolved.
